In an effort to convert more males into adopting the vegan lifestyle, Windsong Heffeweizer of the Orwell County Vegan and Organic Initiate, has decided to change the nickname of garbanzo beans from "chickpeas" to "bro peas."
"Bro peas, as I'm calling them, are an excellent source of protein. They contain all 9 essential amino acids. I'm just hoping more men will see them as a viable protein source, by giving it a more masculine-sounding name."
Bro peas wasn't her first idea. Originally, she wanted to call them "Arnold Schwarzenegger Peas," but something about it just didn't quite roll of the tongue so it had to be terminated. She tried "Dwayne the Rock Johnson Peas," but it seems rather apparent that was not what the Rock's been cookin'. None of the Stallone characters quite worked. She tried "Mr. T Peas" and "Rowdy Roddy Pea-pers," but that somehow made them sound worse than chickpeas. Bro Peas it was.
"The feat here is often understated. " Windsong informed us. "Burger King turned heads with their Impossible Whopper as though an over-cooked patty, devoid of flavor, wasn't already on the menu. In addition to their protein content, they're also a good source of iron and fiber. It's 2019 and it's time to man-up; eating healthy isn't just for chicks anymore."
