Fitness influencer accused of plagiarizing teen's diary

It's not uncommon to see such stunning and glamorous photos on Daphne Jenkins' Instagram (@daphnerunsfar). Jenkins is a self proclaimed fitness influencer with over 45,000 followers on Instagram. But last week, Jenkins was in for a surprise when she shared the above photo with a caption that had to be continued in the comments.

It wasn't some big announcement or even a sponsored ad that created this storm of angry comments and even a hashtag that leaked over into the Twitterverse (see #daphnerunstoofarthistime). It was simply a review of her day's workout in 2200+ characters.

Within an hour of posting, Daphne's niece, Britney Davidson (@_lovebugggggggg) accused Daphne of stealing the exact wording from her own, private diary. She said she discovered the plagiarism when Daphne's post popped up on the hashtag that she follows, #happyfallyall.

Instantly, Britney commented on Daphne's post, "What kind of psycho beech are u? Stealing from my diary??? #daphnerunstoofarthistime" And just like that, Britney's loyal followers came to Daphne's page to leave similar comments in defense of their friend.

"totes unorig. get u a lyfe." -@peakaboots

" 👹 " -@robotknotz

"girlllllllll....." -@_xxflirtyxx

Britney believes Daphne obtained the diary by sneaking into her room during a recent family gathering. "Some of these older Instagramers are so hungry for likes. So much so, they'd go to great lengths to get content. And It's not even good content! It's just me blabbing about my day, my feelings. Don't they know the cool thing to do these days is a caption with one word and no hashtags? Duh."

Daphne 's post has since been removed. When asked to comment, she stated that it was purely a coincidence. She has yet to post again but did share a boomerang on her Instagram story of her pouring maple syrup on a waffle.
